🆕 Sony has announced details of its brand new LEGO PlayStation set
🎮 The set comprises over 1,900 pieces and is a near 1:1 replica of the original console and controller
📅 The set is releasing on October 1 on PlayStation Direct and for LEGO Insiders, before a wider release from LEGO on October 4
💰 It’s priced at $179.99, making it more affordable than other LEGO consoles, but dearer than some of the smaller LEGO Pokémon and Mario sets
Sony has announced a LEGO PlayStation at its latest State of Play event, and boy does it look good.
The brand has stated it’s designed to celebrate “the games, experiences, and the feelings of play we have shared as a community for over 30 years” and allows players and fans to build a LEGO replica of the original PlayStation console and controller.
The set comprises 1,911 pieces and represents a near 1:1 scale of the console, according to a new PlayStation blog post. It measures 26cm/10.5 inches wide when fully assembled.
Sony says it worked closely with LEGO designers, and that the set features hidden details that reference two games that were released for the original PlayStation, with Ape Escape and Gran Turismo.
The set also has interactive elements with functioning power and open buttons, a controller that can plug into the console, and the two dioramas inside are removable so you can display them separately.
If you’ve been wondering when you’ll be able to get your hands on this fantastic set, then we’ve got all the details on price, pre-order and release dates below.

The LEGO PlayStation doesn’t have a pre-order date as such, but it is available three days early for LEGO Insiders Early Access starting October 1, 2026.
LEGO PlayStation release date
Sony is releasing the LEGO PlayStation set directly on its own store on October 1 in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Portugal, the same day it goes on early access for LEGO Insiders.
From LEGO’s side, it’ll be available in LEGO stores and on its website on October 4, meaning you can get the jump if you order via the PlayStation Store.
