Nintendo has revealed a gorgeous Nintendo Switch 2 Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary limited edition, which releases just under a month before The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake.

The console features charming details throughout, including 8-Bit versions of Link and Princess Zelda, along with the iconic Triforce.

The Joy-Con 2 controllers come in a striking royal emerald color and are unlikely to be sold separately. The Switch 2 Dock is also getting a makeover to match the limited edition console, and features a Triforce, gold accents, and a unique base.

We know that the Nintendo Switch 2 The Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary edition release date takes place on October 29, 2026. That’s just under a month before The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake releases, as the game is out on November 5, 2026.

During The Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary Direct, Nintendo didn’t share a pre-order date for the console – though with a release date of October, we won’t have long to wait before we have confirmation. A placeholder page has already appeared on Nintendo’s website, suggesting we’ll know more soon.

The Nintendo Switch 2 price increased on September 1, 2026, from $449.99 to $499.99. It’s likely Nintendo could charge slightly more for this limited edition, though a price of $499.99 wouldn’t be out of the question. The console doesn’t come with a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, which should keep the price down.
