Why you should buy this Nintendo Switch 2 deal before the price increase
The Nintendo Switch 2 console price drop is the US is due to expire – and we have see a further cost increase in 2026

This week is likely to be the last to buy the Nintendo Switch 2 on sale in the US, as only a few American stores are offering the console and top-selling game at a discount, according to The Shortcut’s analysis. Once it sells out, it may not be restocked.
Check Walmart for the Switch 2 deal (flickering between $449 and $499)
Check Best Buy for the Switch 2 deal (solidly $449 – for now)
You can get $50 off Nintendo Switch 2 with Mario Kart World, and that discount is on top of the $30 savings you get versus buying the popular game alone (it’s usually $80 when the game is bought separately). Walmart and Best Buy have been offering the bundle for $449, down from $499 at launch in June. Amazon, Target, and GameStop have already reverted to MSRP in the United States.
The Nintendo Switch 2 price may go up
There’s reason to believe a Nintendo Switch 2 price increase may be imminent in 2026. The rising cost of components, especially RAM, has sent shockwaves through the tech industry.
Sony raised the prices of the PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles in August, and Microsoft did the same for its Xbox Series X console the following month. Microsoft also raised the price of its Xbox Game Pass subscription service, further increasing costs.
How Nintendo
Nintendo has kept the price low, and, in my estimation, priced the new console $50 more at launch than analysts expected, wisely forecasting a tough economy. It raised prices for its accessories in the US weeks before launching the console.
But the Japanese company isn’t immune to rising electronics costs. Expect the Nintendo Switch 2 console price to rise $500 (without a pack-in game) sometime in 2026.

Goodbye, Nintendo Switch 2 bundle
We’re also seeing reports that the Nintendo Switch 2 bundle with Mario Kart World is due to expire once inventory runs out. Reliable X account Nintendeal posted an internal GameStop memo that indicated the Mario Kart World bundle is no longer in production.
“This bundle SKU has now reached end of lifecycle, and additional units will no longer be produced. Future replenishment of Nintendo Switch 2 will be the base console.”
The Switch 2 bundle with Mario Kart World is among The Shortcut's top 70 tech gift ideas. But the inventory you see out there is about to become scarce. And the $449 bundle price is even rarer (Best Buy has it, while Walmart is hovering between $449 and $499 today).
In other words, get this Switch deal while you can because it may not be in stock by the end of Christmas or New Year’s, and may come bundled with a price hike instead of a game.
