The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 special edition drops on Thursday, October 29, but right now, the console is sold out at every retailer. Even though the Zelda Switch 2 costs $519.99 – $20 more than the standard Switch 2, which also recently increased in price by $50 in September – that hasn’t deterred buyers.
However, if you missed out on a pre-order, we’re tracking Zelda Switch 2 restocks to help you get the console as soon as it appears. We’re also giving you tips on where to look and which retailers are your best bets.
Zelda Switch 2 restocks in the US
There’s still only one retailer that has announced it will have fresh stock of the upcoming The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 special edition restock, and that’s Best Buy. Best Buy will be offering limited quantities of the console at select stores during its midnight launch event on November 5, the day The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time comes out. You’ll have to head to a brick and mortar store to get one, though we’re hopeful that Best Buy will allocate some stock for online customers.
Nintendo is the second strongest contender to watch, as it shared a promise that stock of the Zelda 40th anniversary Switch 2 would be “replenished” soon. That soon has dragged on a few weeks now, and we’re still waiting for a follow-up announcement. However, if anyone should have access to more Zelda Switch 2 stock, you’d like to think it would be Nintendo.
As for other retailers like Walmart, Target and Amazon, things are harder to predict. Of course, we’re tracking every retailer for any new restock announcements, and The Shortcut subscribers will be in the first to know.

We’ve helped 400,000 people buy a PS5 when it was in and out of stock for two years, and we’ve made it our goal to help our subscribers secure hard-to-find times, including the PS5 Pro, which is also routinely out of stock these days.
