If you missed the biggest Walmart Nintendo Switch 2 restock in the US when the American retailer had the most inventory of consoles since pre-orders ended, we have good news. The Shortcut can report exclusively that those Switch 2 online orders are being fulfilled, and inventory is on the way.

The Switch 2 isn’t in stock online, although some US consumers report that consoles are sitting on store shelves in the Midwest of the United States. Inventory doesn’t last very long in major cities, though. Getting a Nintendo Switch 2 requires checking stores like Walmart, Target, GameStop, and Best Buy frequently.

Update: More than 12,000 Switch 2 pre-orders and post-launch orders were made through The Shortcut’s links across four different stores in the US. From our data, we can tell you a few things that you won’t find anywhere else.
Walmart has had the Nintendo Switch 2 in stock the most among US retailers selling online. By this, we mean it has had the most inventory of the highly sought-after new console.
Walmart has also had the most frequent restocks since April 24, when pre-orders started in the US. April 24, April 26, May 30, and June 5 (at midnight). The most recent restock was June 6. No other generic tech website tracking Switch 2 has this type of detailed information.
Orders from the latest Walmart Switch 2 restock are being delivered right now (some even arrived this weekend). This means more Switch 2 inventory is likely to be on the way later this week, although a few shipments have been delayed, according to The Shortcut’s tracking, which could hamper restock efforts.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle is actually in stock more than the standalone console, even though the standalone version is less popular and should therefore be easier to get. Nintendo wants your extra $50.

Other Switch 2 stores besides Walmart

Target, GameStop, and Best Buy have been prioritizing in-store purchases of the Nintendo Switch 2, according to our data, and Best Buy had zero consoles in stock last week through its website. That has left Walmart and a few other retailers like Antonline with its bundles, Sam’s Club, and Costco to satisfy people who want their Switch 2 delivered to their doorsteps.
