The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 special edition will be restocked on November 5, with Best Buy offering limited quantities of the console at select retailers during its midnight launch event for the game. Nintendo has also shared a more vague promise that stock will be “replenished”, though we’re still waiting for a follow-up announcement with the date and time to look out for.
Other retailers offer less certainty when it comes to finding a Zelda Switch 2 restock, but with our cheat sheet, you can at least know when and where to look, and further your chances.
These US retailers should have Zelda Switch 2 restocks
Right now, there are two retailers that we can confidently say will have more Zelda 40th anniversary Switch 2 consoles: Best Buy and the Nintendo Store.
Best Buy has announced that it will have limited stock of the Zelda 40th anniversary Switch 2 at select stores during its midnight launch of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on November 5. Before you get your hopes up, check Best Buy’s website to see which stores are eligible, as you may have to travel further than you thought. Best Buy could also reserve some units for online sales, but right now, those who make the journey in-store have the best chance.
The Nintendo Store is your next best option. Nintendo has promised it would replenish stock of the special edition console soon, and if anyone can guarantee more units, it’s Nintendo. It’s harder to predict when stock will appear, but it’s definitely one to watch closely.
We can also expect Walmart, Target and Amazon to get more stock of the in-demand console, but as it stands, Best Buy and the Nintendo Store are the best bets for now.
Make sure you set up instant checkout for each retailer
Don’t scupper your chances of grabbing a Zelda Switch 2 by wasting time at checkout. If you’re having to enter your address, billing details and other information, it could cost you the coveted console. To give yourself the best posisble chance, make sure you:
Add your address, payment details, and phone number to the account
Stay signed in on your desktop or mobile (logging back in will only slow you down)
Enable 1-click checkout on Amazon
Use Apple Pay or Google Pay for even faster checkout
It’s an easy step to overlook, but one that can decide whether you get the console.
Remember when these retailers restock
Retailers restock on different days and times, just to make life more difficult. It’s good to learn the patterns, as there’s no point checking Target late at night when they always restock early in the morning, for example. Check out our restock timing cheat sheet below so you can see when retailers may have the Zelda Switch 2 in stock at a glance.
