📦 Orders will begin shipping on October 23, but you’ll want to act quick
🚀 We expect the iPhone Duo to sell out fast everywhere
The time has finally come: Apple’s iPhone Duo is now available for preorder, over a month after it was unveiled during the company’s September event where we also saw the iPhone 18 Pro and Apple Watch Series 12. The folding phone starts at $1,999 and stretches to over $3,000 with 2TB of storage, and it’s only available in two colors. Orders will begin shipping next week on October 23.
Here’s what you need to know if you plan to preorder a shiny new iPhone Duo.
📱 iPhone Duo colors, storage, and pricing
Apple is letting you pick between two different colors for the iPhone Duo.
✨ Star White. It’s perhaps the most classic Apple color of all time. The Star White version of the Duo has a polished, jewelry-like quality to it, similar to how the Silver iPhone Air looks. The back frosted glass is a bit warmer than a traditional Silver or white phone from Apple, but the titanium rails remain as glossy and silver as ever.
🌃 Night Sky. This shade takes navy blue to a much deeper level. Night Sky cranks down the vibrancy of a traditional dark blue finish to one that almost looks black - almost. There’s a more pronounced blue hue around the titanium frame, whereas the glass looks a bit closer to Space Gray or Black. It’s a nice contrast to the brighter shade the Duo is also offered in.
Once you pick out a color, you’ll also need to settle on the right storage for your needs (and how much you’re willing to spend). Here’s a breakdown of what that looks like.
256GB: $1,999
512GB: $2,199
1TB: $2,599
2TB: $3,199
🤳 Trade-in deals
If you want to save money on your iPhone Duo, there are a lot of ways to get the price down. Here’s what I was able to find after researching the best deals out there.
AT&T: Up to $1,200 off with an eligible trade-in worth at least $230, but you need the 36-month installment plan and the Premium 2.0 plan, which starts at $100 a month.
T-Mobile: Up to $1,000 off on Experience Beyond or Go5G Next, with a trade-in in any condition or by switching and adding a line (business accounts get up to $1,400).
Xfinity Mobile: Up to $1,000 off for new Mobile Plus customers and existing Diamond Members with a trade-in, or $400 off with no trade-in.
Apple Trade In: $35 to $885 in credit when you trade in an iPhone 8 Plus or newer, applied instantly with no carrier commitment.
Verizon: No confirmed Duo trade-in deal yet, only waived activation fees for new and Verizon Loyalty customers.
Best Buy: Up to $1,000 off with carrier activation, but terms vary.
📦 Where to place your iPhone Duo preorder
If you want the best shot at getting an iPhone Duo on day one (October 23), your best bet is to place an order through the Apple Store app on your iPhone or iPad. Typically, the app is much quicker to navigate than Apple’s website, and if you already have your selected iPhone Duo model picked out, you can tap one button and pay for it.
We also recommend keeping an eye on stock at Best Buy. That’s where we always see extra stock of new, hyped-up gadgets like this.
For those shopping in-person, visit your local Apple or carrier store and see what kind of stock they have. Apple will usually have every model in the back, while carriers will typically have a lot of the base storage tiers and less of the more expensive ones.
🚀 You’ve gotta act fast
The iPhone Duo is expected to sell out extremely fast, with shipping dates slipping quicker than the average iPhone launch. That’s because Apple has only made a limited number of these things to go around, according to industry reports.
Given that it’s Apple’s first foldable iPhone, there’s already heightened interest in the device. Coupled with the fact there aren’t as many as a normal iPhone at preorder time, it’s safe to say you’ll want to act fast if you want to get your Duo in a reasonable amount of time.
