Sony has unveiled a limited edition DualSense wireless controller to celebrate Gran Turismo’s 30th anniversary.

The reveal comes alongside the launch of Part 1 of the Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV update, as per a new PlayStation blog post. Gran Turismo 7’s Spec IV (Part 1) update is free for all players and adds six new cars, the Sportsland Sugo circuit and new events.
The controller’s design takes its cues from motorsport and car design, pairing racing stripes and graphics with a textured, carbon-fibre-style front plate. Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi said the controller is a tribute to the journey the series has shared with its fans:
“Thirty years ago, Gran Turismo began with a vision to share the beauty and joy of the automobile”, he stated. “This commemorative controller celebrates the journey we have shared together, and I am deeply grateful to everyone whose passion continues to inspire us.”

Gran Turismo 7 PS5 controller pre-order date
Pre-orders for the Gran Turismo 7 DualSense begin on October 22 at 10am local time. Sony will sell it directly and through participating retailers, in limited quantities while supplies last. In the US, pre-orders will be available from PlayStation Direct.
Gran Turismo 7 PS5 controller release date
As has been the case with Sony’s other special edition PS5 controllers, there’s a six to eight-week lag between its pre-order date and the actual release date.
In this instance, the Gran Turismo 7 PS5 controller will be released on December 10 worldwide, meaning you should get it in time for Christmas.

Sony has attached an $84.99 price tag to the Gran Turismo 7 PS5 controller.
That sits in and around what we’d expect with these controllers, as other recent options, such as the Genshin Impact limited edition or the Marathon limited edition, have the same retail price.
