If you missed the big Walmart Nintendo Switch 2 restock in the US a week-and-a-half ago, there’s likely going to be another chance to buy the highly sought-after console this week. The Shortcut has seen Switch 2 orders fulfilled (or canceled) for customers buying through our links alerts. That means there’s a greater likelihood that inventory is imminent at Walmart, and a two-week gap between restocks fits into the American retailer’s usual timeline.
Want a leg up? The Shortcut subscribers got a notification when Walmart’s Switch 2 and Switch 2 Mario Kart bundle came in stock on June 6 at 11:36 pm ET, and we reported on the news that Walmart would have “twice as much inventory” as it did on launch day, according to our exclusive US retail sources. We’re ready to do it again.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will be easier to buy than the two-year-long PS5 restock crisis of 2020 and 2021, but in 2025, it’s still hard to find the console in stock online for more than a few minutes. Both the US and the UK are experiencing shortages, according to our research. Getting a Switch 2 requires checking Walmart, Target, GameStop, and Best Buy frequently.
Walmart: Switch 2 console / Mario Kart World bundle
Target: Switch 2 console / Mario Kart World bundle
GameStop: Switch 2 console / Mario Kart World bundle
Best Buy: Switch 2 console / Mario Kart World bundle
Sam’s Club: Switch 2 console / Mario Kart World bundle
Besides checking to see if Switch 2 is in stock and hoping to stumble upon a restock (it’s like finding a needle in a haystack), you can sign up for alerts to have notifications pushed to you. Matt Swider on X sends out alerts in the Substack Chat and on X.
The Shortcut has exclusive Switch 2 tracking
The Shortcut sent out the first notifications for the last Walmart Nintendo Switch 2 restock on Friday, June 6. Because of these early notifications, our links have led more than 12,000 people to make Switch 2 pre-orders and post-launch orders, according to our data.
Here’s some Switch 2 restock information you won’t find anywhere else.
Walmart has had the Nintendo Switch 2 console in stock the most among US retailers selling online. Best Buy is catching up with online orders for in-store pick-ups.
Walmart has had the most frequent Switch 2 restocks since April 24, when pre-orders started in the US. April 24, April 26, May 30, and June 5 (at midnight). The most recent restock was June 6. No other tech website is tracking Switch 2 like The Shortcut.
Orders from the June 6 Walmart Switch 2 opportunity have been fulfilled or canceled, according to The Shortcut’s restock tracker data. We thought more Nintendo consoles would be in stock last week, but when we saw orders delayed (and eventually canceled), we updated our forecast based on this new information.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle is actually in stock more than the standalone console, even though the standalone version is less popular and should therefore be easier to get, in theory. Nintendo wants your extra $50.

Walmart and Best Buy lead Switch 2 online orders
Besides Walmart, Nintendo Switch 2 has been in stock at both Best Buy and, in some parts of the United States, at Target online for in-store pick-ups. Best Buy’s first and only online Switch 2 restock was June 11. That’s a long gap from the April 24 pre-order. For the launch on June 5, Best Buy chose to hold off on online orders in favor of in-store walk-in purchases.
Target, especially in major metro areas like NYC, has had a harder time keeping up with inventory and has prioritized inventory for in-store purchases. But it did have a long restock on Thursday, June 12 (just not in all areas of the US).
