Steam Frame gets another shipment, including controller accessories, as hands-on video leaks

It’s a bit of a double whammy for Steam Frame news, as Valve has gotten yet another shipment of the device and a hands-on video has leaked.
As per Steam Hardware Updates on X, Valve has received another shipment of the headset plus more controller accessories, taking the total number of shipments to 22.
It seems Valve keeps stocking up on units of the headset as it readies to announce the Steam Frame pre-order, which could come at any moment now.
It also recently got one of its biggest Steam Frame shipments yet, with nearly two metric tonnes of headsets and controllers coming into Valve’s US warehouse in one go, as Steam Hardware Updates has previously noted.
In other news, we’ve gotten a hands-on video of the Steam Frame controller’s Capacitive Grips being used in-game, alongside someone using the headset.
The video comes from accessories maker KobraVR, and therefore isn’t a review unit. We’ve seen developers share some Steam Frame work in recent weeks, but this seems to mark one of the first times a video has focused on hardware rather than software.
Speaking of software, the headset now has over 50 verified games for the new ‘Great on Frame’ category Valve recently launched.
A lot of the games in the list are native VR titles, including Valve’s own showcase VR titles that were some of the first to be certified, although it also includes the first game Valve verified in Portal 2, plus addictive deckbuilder Balatro and even more besides.
It isn’t necessarily all positive news, though, if one insider is to be believed. The Steam Frame could be very expensive. It could start at $1,100, which isn’t good for folks who hoped the Steam Frame would be more affordable.
That same insider also thought we were overdue for a release date and price announcement, especially as the Steam Frame has recently cleared one of its final regulatory hurdles, suggesting a launch is very close otherwise. However, we’re still waiting.
