🎥 It’ll focus exclusively on the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Movie
🤩 The CGI movie stars Chris Pratt as Mario and includes a star-studded cast
📅 The film is due out on April 7, 2023
Mamma mia! Nintendo has announced a new Nintendo Direct that’ll introduce a world premiere trailer for the Super Mario Bros. Movie, which is due out on April 7, 2023.
The Nintendo Direct takes place on Thursday, October 6, at 1:05pm PT / 4:05pm ET / 9:05pm BST / 10:05pm CEST. You’ll be able to watch it on Nintendo’s YouTube Channel, but don’t expect any game information.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is being made in partnership between Nintendo and Illumination Animated Film, the studio behind Despicable Me and the Minions films.
The CGI film features a star-studded voice cast, including Chris Pratt as the voice of Mario, Charlie Day as the voice of Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as the voice of Princess Peach, and Jack Black as the voice of Bowser.
It’s fair to say that the world is eagerly anticipating Chris Pratt’s take on Mario, who isn’t being voiced by Charles Martinet, the man famous for voicing the mustachioed plumber since Super Mario 64.
Pratt said his take on Mario will be “updated and unlike anything you’ve heard in the Mario world before,” which doesn’t do much to inspire confidence, honestly. I’m also curious to see what Seth Rogan’s take on Donkey Kong will be like… 🙈
The reaction to the first Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer is bound to get the internet talking, then, so make sure you tune into the Nintendo Direct on Thursday to see what awaits us in April next year.
