The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is out now – and it’s received an incredible reception from critics. However, many are still searching for the Zelda Switch 2 console, especially after Best Buy and GameStop’s midnight launch events have now come and gone.
Sadly, we didn’t see any midnight online Zelda Switch 2 restocks take place at any major retailer. But that could actually be positive. Walmart and Target are tipped to have a fresh wave of inventory on November 6, with Target even stating that online orders will reopen its website tomorrow.
Walmart should also follow suit, though it’s been less clear about its intentions. A note was reportedly shared with employees that claimed that Zelda Switch 2 stock was being held back for November 6. A supply chain issue was to blame, which correlates with Walmart cancelling some Zelda Switch 2 pre-orders, an expensive mistake considering it’s giving affected customers a $519 eGift card, making the console free.
The Nintendo Store has also stopped any restocks after we saw intermittent waves of the console last week. There’s a chance it could follow Walmart and Target on November 6 after reserving units for those who attended the midnight launch at the New York and San Francisco Nintendo stores.
Nintendo has admitted that it underestimated demand for the Zelda 40th anniversary Switch 2 special edition console and Zelda Switch 2 Pro Controller, which remain sold out. However, with our Zelda Switch 2 tracker, you can be alerted as soon as the console or controller is back in stock.
