What’s next for Switch?
Nintendo has ruled out any new Switch hardware until at least April 2023, but it is set to mark the upcoming release of the team-based, ink-flinging shooter with the first limited edition Nintendo Switch OLED. The striking console will be available on August 27 and costs $359.99. The console features a pair of gorgeous, gradient-colored Joy-Con, and the Switch’s white dock is splatted with yellow ink.
The limited edition Nintendo Switch OLED doesn’t come with a copy of the game, though, as Splatoon 3 releases on September 9. A Splatoon 3 Pro Controller and Carrying Case will be released alongside the game, costing $74.99 and $23.99, respectively.
Even though the company’s financial earnings report saw Nintendo Switch sales fall amid chip shortages, Switch owners still have plenty of great games to look forward to. Nintendo recently released the impressive JRPG Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, and Bayonetta 3 are all due this year. Wave 2 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass also came out on August 4, adding eight new tracks to the evergreen title.
