Almost every publisher is giving GTA 6 a wide berth in November, as it’s likely Rockstar Games’ upcoming title will eclipse every other release.
However, Grand Theft Auto 6 may have some stiff competition from Nintendo’s Ocarina of Time remake, which could be released on November 12, 2026, to mark The Legend of Zelda’s 40th anniversary.
A couple of signs point to an early November release for Ocarina of Time. Images of the packaging for a limited-edition Nintendo Switch 2 console and Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller have leaked, and they look pretty convincing (thanks, Nintendo Everything).
Nintendo has also listed the ‘Sword Kirby and Dragoon’ and ‘Noir Dedede and Hydra’ amiibo for release on November 12, 2026 (thanks, My Nintendo News). Neither is Zelda-related, but Nintendo tends to release amiibo alongside its own published titles. Currently, there are no releases scheduled for November, but this date aligns with the limited-edition Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch 2 Pro Controller.
Of course, these dates could merely be placeholders, but a November release would make sense for the Ocarina of Time remake. The teaser trailer promised it would be out this year, and November is usually the ideal time to release new hardware and key titles to take advantage of Black Friday and holiday shoppers.
Despite the magnitude of GTA 6’s release, few games could hope to stand up against Rockstar’s upcoming epic. An Ocarina of Time remake is certainly one of them, and we’ll have to wait and see whether Nintendo really is ready to take on arguably the most anticipated game of all time.
