We know that The Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary Switch 2 is incredibly popular, but Nintendo seems willing to restock the console, unlike the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition, which was limited to just 25,000 units.
The two most likely retailers to have The Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary special edition in stock next are Best Buy and the Nintendo Store. Best Buy has announced that limited quantities of the console will be available at select stores holding a midnight launch for the game on November 5, 2026.
That date is when The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake will be released, but the console itself is actually available on October 29 – and doesn’t include a copy of the game.
Nintendo recently released a restock update on the UK Nintendo Store website, which said: “The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Collection is currently sold out. We will announce when stock is replenished via the Nintendo Store app.”
It’s unclear whether the same promise will hold true in the US, but if anyone is likely to get stock, Nintendo’s own store is obviously a frontrunner. For now, we at least know that Best Buy’s midnight launch will have stock, though expect an extremely limited supply at the stores that receive stock.
