Bose has announced a new pair of QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) that offer as many headlining features as flashy new colors.
The Bose QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen)’s long list of upgrades starts with lossless audio playback over a USB-C. Whether you’re running a wired connection from your smartphone or laptop, Bose’s new headphones will support up to 24bit/48kHz audio like the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen).
These headphones also inherit the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen)’s immersive listening modes. This includes Immersive Audio mode that puts the listener in the middle of a virtualized two-channel stereo sound environment, Still Mode for head tracking, and Cinema Mode that keeps dialogue levels crisp and centered while spatializing background sound effects.
As for noise canceling, the QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) still features the six microphones, but Bose swears its improved rebranded QuietControl technology creates a better seal around glasses, hats, and other objects around the earcups. ActiveSense also promises to maintain consistent noise canceling even through sudden noise spikes like a passing train or a jackhammer on the road.
Battery life sits at the same 24 hours, but the Bose QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) can now continue streaming playback while charging.
The Bose QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) will release on August 13 for $359 in a variety of colors, including Black and White Smoke, as well as three limited-edition options, including Eucalyptus Green, Dewdrop Mint, and Rosewood Mauve.
