Assassin's Creed Mirage takes the series to Iraq

Ubisoft has announced the next Assassin’s Creed game is on the way, and it’s called Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
The game is set in Baghdad, Iraq, and sees you play as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla character Basim in his younger days. Assassin’s Creed Mirage will reportedly be a smaller, stealth-focused take on the series, which has centered around a more open-ended, RPG-like experience ever since Assassin’s Creed Origins.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s Iraq setting suggests the game’s story will center around the fable Ali Baba and The Forty Thieves and will take place in the years 860 to 870. It was originally supposed to be an expansion to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla but was later spun into a standalone experience. We don’t have to wait long to learn more about Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Ubisoft is holding a special event on September 10 to reveal more about the game. The event takes place 12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm BST / 9pm CEST, and should include a variety of other upcoming Ubisoft titles.
We may also hear more about Assassin’s Creed Infinity during the event, which might be set in Japan. The game is being developed by the studios behind Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and Assassin’s Creed Origins and Valhalla.
