If you look on the official website playstation website it says you can connect it to wherever you have access to Wi-Fi not just your home.

Please let us know about the WiFi testing. I received an email from PlayStation for Portal pre-order today that states:

“Play your PS5® console over your home WiFi with console quality controls using

PlayStation Portal (TM) Remote Player."

Note that it specifies HOME WiFi (not just any WiFi?) which will be a huge letdown to many that think they are going to be playing anywhere they have access to WiFi.

I'm pretty excited about this little machine, definitely plan to pick it up if it ever goes on sale. I actually share the same sentiments as your #2 reason.

For the first week that FFXVI was released, I knew dang well (I've clocked over 100+ hours on that game at this point, I love this game! Lol) that I was going to be glued to that game till I beat it. So I decided that for the sake of enjoying the game and saving some electricity usage, I would be playing on my smaller 27" monitor screen, than powering on my massive 65" TV, lol. Even remote playing to my MacBook Pro was pretty great!

I too, like the idea of a 'second screen'. And while, yes, remote play still works with other devices, having a dedicated handheld just for it just makes things feel seamless and very first world problems of having to not bring out my tablet and grab a dualsense controller and start playing, lol. Also, I kinda want to try out those new earbuds too, the marketing terms they use to describe has peaked my interest! Hopefully it all just isn't fluff words, lol. Wonder if they're compatible with other devices, because I wouldn't mind using those at the gym, haha.

Looking forward to your full review on this!

Electrician here! Modern tvs are extremely efficient. fact you are trying to tell yourself your “eco friendly” is kinda laughable. buying another product that contains valuable elements such as lithium and cadmium to fuel your unnecessary screen addiction. it’s not a power consumption issue, it’s a matter of power production. i work in natural gas power plant. keep plugging in that tesla and saving the world!

It baffles me that some people don't understand that they are not the target audience for this product, this is for those who already own a PS5 and like to stream on their phones now they have another option, jesus it's not rocket science guys 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Buy a fucking phone and stop giving them money for the dumbest projects

The reason they released this is because people like you keep buying whatever they come up with

You and me both. I have preordered one as well for just the reason you say. For those complaining about it not supporting ps plus streaming, it should still support ps plus games that have been downloaded to the console, so I still have a ton of games to play.
