The Samsung Galaxy S23 launch date may happen so early in February that it lands on the very first day of February 2023, according to a new leak.
The rumored launch date for the S23, S23 Plus and S23 Ultra is February 1, tweeted reliable Samsung leaker Ice Universe. This comes one day after the likely Samsung Galaxy S23 colors were revealed in a leak.
Samsung Galaxy S23 pre-order, release date
Sure, the “February 1” tweet didn’t have much context to it, but two hours later, fellow leaker account OnLeaks posted a reply gif that appeared to back up the rumor. And, given past years’ announcements and release cycle, it’s likely that the Samsung Galaxy S23 within about two weeks after that time frame.
In fact, I’d bet that if the Galaxy S23 launches on Wednesday, February 1, pre-orders of the new phone series will happen on Friday, February 3 if not right away in some regions (sometimes US phone carriers delay pre-orders). That would put the actual Galaxy S23 release date in mid-February.
This announcement would come a week ahead of the official launch of the OnePlus 11, which is slated to go on sale following a big launch event in New Delhi, India on February 7.
Samsung Galaxy S23 specs
The Galaxy S23 is the latest in Samsung’s line of premium Android smartphones and it’s expected to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which is said to be second only to the Apple A16 in terms of compute power and ahead of that SoC when you consider its onboard graphics processor.
Rumors point to the S23 Ultra launching in four colors – cream, green, lavender and Phantom Black – but little else in the way of new design, apart from the possible disappearance of the big camera plateau on the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus phones. They’ll still have raised lenses, but the module being embedded into the back of the phone is an important detail.
The S23 Ultra is a different story, with the more expensive phone ready to tout a 200MP camera sensor, catching up with other recent phones that have launched using the Samsung-made 200MP sensor outside of the US.
