Qualcomm is collaborating with Google and Microsoft to bring its Snapdragon X Elite chip to the first Googlebook laptops and the Snapdragon X2 Plus to new Surface Pro 12-inch and Surface Laptop 13-inch devices.
The Snapdragon X Elite promises to deliver leading performance, power efficiency and AI capabilities, and will take full advantage of Google’s Gemini. Gaming should also be viable on, as Snapdragon Elite Gaming features like faster frame rates and enhanced graphics will be available on Googlebook laptops powered by Snapdragon X Elite.
Dell and HP will be the first to bring Googlebooks powered by Snapdragon X Elite to market, with pre-orders open now.

Qualcomm is also partnering with Microsoft for its Surface Pro 12-inch and Surface Laptop 13-inch with Snapdragon X2 Plus. The new chip promises to deliver up to 18% more efficient battery performance, over 60% faster graphics, and 95% faster on-device AI.
The Surface Pro 12-inch starts at $1,149.99 and is available starting October 13. The Surface Laptop 13-inch, which has a 25% brighter, 500-nit display, 22.5 hours of battery life and a new Black color, starts at $1,199 and is also available starting October 13.
