Qualcomm has unveiled its newest premium mobile chips, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, which will power a new generation of mobile experiences. Chiefly, the chips are designed to handle agentic AI.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is Qualcomm’s most powerful mobile platform, and delivers new AI capabilities and performance to power the newest Android smartphones.
The chip allows everyday agents to deliver more personalized experiences faster, and AI-powered camera capabilities, such as Advanced Professional Video (APV) support and Intelligent Pixel Control, enhance image quality and provide more natural-looking photos and videos.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 will also benefit gamers, as the new Adreno Neural Fusion uses AI to deliver intelligent graphics for more immersive gameplay, improved visuals, and battery efficiency to enable longer playtime.
As for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, it’s built on the same 2nm process node and powered by the custom-built Qualcomm Oryon CPU, a re-architected Qualcomm Adreno GPU, and the advanced Qualcomm Hexagon NPU. This allows the 8 Elite Gen 6 to offer many of the same AI, gaming, imaging, and connectivity features as the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 to a broader range of smartphones.
