Nintendo and LEGO have announced a new, 2,807-piece Bowser set – and it’s probably the best entry yet in the Lego Super Mario series.

Standing 12.5-inches tall, the LEGO Mighty Bowser promises to be quite the display piece. Not only is the king of Koopas made up of almost 3,000 pieces, but it’ll cost you $269.99 when the set releases on October 1, 2022.

The set has two towers that Bowser can knock over, a hidden POW Block, and an Action Tag. You can combine the Bowser set and platform with the LEGO Super Mario Starter Course, which is sold separately for $59.99.

What makes this Bowser build extra special is that it has interactive elements. Using some buttons and triggers on his back, you can move Bowser’s head, open and close his mouth and even shoot out a fireball.

Nintendo and LEGO have released a variety of big build sets in the past few years, including the Nintendo Entertainment System for $229.99 and the Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block for $169.99. These sets included 2,646 and 2,064 pieces respectively.

The Mighty Bowser LEGO set is obviously targeted at the “big kids” market and is available to pre-order from the LEGO website. Will you be laying down the cash to own your very own Lord Bowser? Or perhaps this Resident Evil Village Lady Dimitrescu statue is more tempting?
